Frenuloplasty
When a short Penile Frenulum is resutured in length it is known as frenuloplasty. Frenulum in males is where the foreskin of the penis meets the underside of the penis. It is a small V-shaped structure and can be quite sensitive in some men. Even after circumcision, a part of the Frenulum remains.
Frenuloplasty is carried out to avoid any pain a man can feel during intercourse or any Discomfort caused due to retraction of the foreskin. If the frenulum is short in length or torn due to some reason, the male can find a problem pulling the foreskin back. Frenuloplasty is a surgical process where the length is increased for easy movement.
When the foreskin is cut to widen and loosen it, the process is called dorsal slit. In this case, pulling the foreskin back becomes easy. When the foreskin is cut and stitched to widen it, the process is called Prepuceplasty.
Now in some cases, the frenulum can be removed completely. Frenuloplasty is most necessary in uncircumcised Males. A person will have to take serious precautions before going through the process such as avoiding smoking as it may reduce the recovery or healing rate and can increase complications.
