Fixed Complete Denture
There are several prosthetic alternatives open to restore the full denture patient. One of these choices includes the use of dental implants and a fixed complete denture; including a titanium framework that is manufactured using a computer-assisted milling (CAM) process. Within this approach, specific procedures may be built to facilitate aesthetic restoration projects using all-ceramic restorative materials. These fixed complete dentures may also be manufactured by attaching heat-cured acrylic resin and acrylic resin to the slot rather than individual formulations and all-ceramic repairs. Most of these implants maintained for restorations involve cantilever parts mounted to the implant.
There are several suggested treatment methods to achieve optimum prosthetic design, including retrofitting an existing denture by turning it into a temporary reconstruction and using acrylic resin or acrylic resin reinforced metal frames. Another treatment modality consists of a laboratory-processed provisional application of a pre-cast structure and a processed full denture that is combined intraorally following implant placement. The development of a provisional prosthesis following a medical operation can be complicated and, most of all, time-intensive.
