Laser Resurfacing is a cosmetic rejuvenation technique that employs a laser to enhance the look of the skin or repair small defects on the face.  It is possible to use both ablative or nonablative lasers. Both techniques can be used in conjunction with a fractional laser, which leaves tiny columns of untreated tissue across the treatment region.

Fine wrinkles in the face can be reduced by laser resurfacing. It may also be used to cure skin discoloration and enhance your appearance if you have scars or sun damage. Excessive or sagging skin cannot be removed with laser resurfacing. Understanding the particular procedures, dangers, and potential outcomes will assist you in determining whether laser resurfacing is suitable for you. A strong beam of light energy (laser) is focused on your skin throughout ablative laser resurfacing. The laser beam damages the skin's outer surface (epidermis). Simultaneously, the laser warms the underneath skin (dermis), stimulating collagen synthesis over time and resulting in improved skin tone and texture. Ablative laser resurfacing generally takes 30 minutes to two hours to complete, based on the sample utilized and the extent of the region treated. If you're having, nonablative laser therapy, a series of sessions is usually arranged over a few weeks or even months.

The treated skin will be raw, puffy, and irritating after ablative laser rejuvenation. Our doctor will administer a thick ointment to the affected region and may wrap it in an airtight and watertight bandage.  You can take pain relievers and apply cold compresses to your skin. In one to two weeks, new skin should cover the region. Avoid using items that may irritate your face, including cosmetics and sunscreens, during this period. Also, avoid circumstances where you are more likely to become infected, such as swimming.

The recovery period after nonablative laser resurfacing is low. You could have some redness, swelling, and pain. As required, use cold compresses. You are free to resume your usual activities and skincare regimen.
