For transplantation, the doctor can select one of two methods: follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS) or follicular unit extraction (FUE). The procedure can take about 4 to 8 hours, based on the size of the transplant you are having. If you continue to lose hair or determine you want thicker hair, you will need another procedure later on.
