Monsplasty With Liposuction
The pubic mound, also known as the mons pubis, is the fatty region above the genital area in both males and females. When this area swells due to weight gain, pregnancy, or childbirth, it can be uneasy and affect the person in ways other than aesthetics. When the mons pubis begins to sag, it can interact with urination, sex, and the way clothes fit. When diet and lifestyle fail to reduce the size or sagging of the pubic area, a monsplasty may be required to correct the problem.
Depending on the extent of the procedure, monsplasty, also known as a pubic lift, can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. If a small quantity of tissue is being eliminated, only local sedation may be essential, however, if the process is more involved or is being combined with a more surgical intervention such as a tummy tuck, general anesthesia will be needed. If necessary, a liposuction process will be conducted to remove excess fatty tissue to enhance contours postoperatively. A horizontal incision will be made far below the navel at the extreme side of the pubic region.
To establish a firmer, more definite pubic area, fundamental muscles will be brought up and tightened. The excess skin is then erased, and the pubic skin is pulled upward and into its fresh position To close the incision, sutures and skin coating will be used.
